Talk on Connections between China and Turkey

EVENT DETAILS

The ancestors of the modern day Turks originally lived in and near present-day China. Chinese historical records show that nomadic peoples of the north, including the Turks, played a significant role in Chinese history. Today, seven Turkic language-speaking ethnic minorities still live in China. After China’s Tang Dynasty (618-906), Turks began to immigrate westward, and by the end of the eleventh.

This immigration ended up in the borders of Presents Republic of Turkey. Through the journey, Turkic tribes settled in different parts of Asia. After the settlements, some founded their nations and some became part of neighbor cultures and lands.

Even the settlement expanded all around the Asia, the Turkic tribes kept their main cultures and living styles alive.

Because of the conservative characteristics of the Turkic people they always kept their relations throughout Silk Road through commerce, scientific transmission etc. with their ancestry people.

In our present day, the relations of Turkic Countries and China are getting stronger in different platforms. Because of the historical ties and importance of the geopolitical positions of nations, it helps them to have closer relations. World’s policy changes put Asian countries in a critical position.

As a matter of fact Turkey was one of the shining star among these Turkic countries. It was the country as a point in one side of Asia like the China as in another side. It also got another importance as being the birthplace of Ottoman Empire, an Empire governed one out third part of the world. This put Turkey in more important position. Because of the Istanbul, Turkey became a bridge connecting all this Asia Countries and the rest of the world.

While all face turned to east rather then west; eventually both China and Turkey had recognized of this opportunity but in fact necessity.

On 15th of March 2014, Professor H. K. Chang, Chair Professor / Professor Emeritus (retired)Peking University / City University of Hong Kong, honored PI (Formerly known as ACDC) with his presence and talk on these relations mentioned above.
