“GÖBEKLİ TEPE” Documentary Screening

EVENT DETAILS

While challenging common beliefs on the history of civilization, the film takes the audience back to 12 thousand years ago, to Göbeklitepe, an archeological site recently found in SanliUrfa, Turkey. The construction date of the “World’s First Temple” is thousands of years earlier than the most important symbols of ancient wisdom; such as the Stonehenge monument in England, or the Egyptian Pyramids.

* What pushes the Neolithic human to create such a monumental sacred complex?

* Does the existence of such an architectural feat show that hunter-gatherer societies had been much more developed and well-organized?

* What tools did the builders of the temples use to erect 40-70 tons colossal blocks?

* Could the monumental pillars and animal carvings be the mysterious symbols of a code waiting to be cracked for 12,000 years?

* Does it hold any connection with the forthcoming civilizations?

* In Göbeklitepe, were there ones with a higher consciousness and awareness, and did they leave us their knowledge as a heritage?

The film aims to reveal the facts and discoveries rather than answering to those questions. In this manner, the intention is to leave the interpretation to the open-minded audience’s imagination.
